Local tall coconut seedlings are valued for their strength, durability, and long lifespan, making them ideal for sustainable coconut farming. Although they take longer to mature than hybrid varieties, typically fruiting within 5–10 years, they are well-suited for long-term agricultural investment.
For best results, select healthy seedlings that are 6–12 months old, with a collar girth of 10–12 cm, at least 6 fully developed leaves, and free from pests and diseases. Proper planting involves placing the seedling with about one-third of the coconut nut exposed above the soil for optimal growth.
